Summer is here which means parties are near. The sun is shining, the tunes are playing, and all your friends are here, the only thing that’s missing is a drink in your hand. Something nice and refreshing to complete the absolute mood that is a summer party, what about one of our favourite low carb cocktails?
While we all love the summer season, it is also beach body season and unfortunately, a lot of cocktails are not particularly good for us. Sugar Free Margarita
- lime wedge
- 2 tbs tequila
- 2 tsp lime juice
- 2 tbs low carb simple syrup or Da Vinci sugar free syrup
- ¼ tsp orange extract
Even if you weren’t looking for a healthier alternative to your standard margarita, you would be if you knew just how much sugar is packed into these delicious little treats! As Tequila contains no carbs, all you need to do is find something to give your concoction a little sweetness and you’ll be good to go.
The process is really quite simple. First off, you’ll want to coat the edge of your glass in lime and salt, do this by running a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and then placing the glass in the salt. Next, all you need to do is throw the rest of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker or blender and shake/blend thoroughly until you have a soft consistency. Finally, strain the mixture into your glass and have yourself a fun time!
- 10 large mint leaves
- 30ml fresh lime juice
- 1 tsp powdered sweetener
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 60ml white rum
- 60ml soda
The Keto Mojito has seen an explosion in popularity, just like the diet it draws its name from, and adherents of this diet still need to find a nice way to unwind, right? Somehow, this drink is even easier to make than the sugar free margarita.
All you need to do is add the mint leaves to your glass and mash them up a bit, you can use a pestle but really the handle of just about any kitchen utensil will do. Next, add in the lime juice, sweetener, and ice cubes before topping it off with rum and soda, give it a stir and you’re good to go.

Low Carb Sex On The Beach
- 30ml vodka
- 15ml cranberry flavored vodka
- 15ml peach flavored vodka
- 120ml soda
Okay seriously, these drinks are getting easier by the minute. I don’t know why anyone says they don’t have the time to mix themselves a delicious and low carb cocktail.
To complete this low carb summer cocktail, and our personal favourite, all you need to do is pour all your liquids (except the soda) into a shaker with the ice, give it a good shake, and pour it out. Once it’s in your class, simply top it off with soda water until you’re happy. Enjoy.
Low Carb Mixers (bonus)
If you get bored of making cocktails every time you want a drink, or it’s getting towards the end of the night and you’ve long since given up any pretence of being sophisticated, you’ll probably move on to something a little harder.
If you want to mix it up a bit then you should know that whiskey, vodka, rum, gin, and tequila all contain zero carbohydrates. To pair that with a low carb mixer your best bets are diet cranberry juice (0.2 grams), Tomato Juice (1 gram), apple juice (3.5 grams), and pineapple juice (4 grams) per ounce.
I wouldn’t recommend using them all at once, though.
